Book your vacation with B'n'Tree and do good at the same time
The concept of Click A Tree is simple and yet strong: They are planting trees all over the planet to create habitats for endangered animal species, to combat climate change and also to create fairly paid jobs for local communities. A holistic concept based on the three principles of sustainability.
Do good deeds - right from your own screen
The nice thing: You can use the concept with the tourism brand "B'n'Tree“Support from Click A Tree quite simply. In the style of Bed & Breakfast, it quickly becomes clear what it's about: a bed and a tree. It couldn't be summarized more simply: For every booking that is made on B'n'Tree, a tree is planted, in cooperation with the world's largest booking platforms.
B'n'Tree plants trees while you are on vacation
The whole thing is completely free of charge for you, because you pay for the trees from the pockets of the booking platforms. All you have to do is choose a platform of your choice on B'n'Tree and book your hotel. The remuneration that B'n'Tree receives in return from the large platforms is invested in planting trees.
A nice alternative if you want to book on one of the major booking platforms. We asked Chris Kaiser, the founder of Click A Tree, our three questions.
1. What was or is your motivation behind Click-A-Tree?
Between 2012 and 2017 I lived in Thailand and worked closely with elephants. Their biggest problem is the loss of habitat. And so I decided to plant trees. That was the hour of birth of Click A Tree.
2. What do you advise our readers: What can you do specifically for a better future?
There are quite a few. But since that is often a deterrent, it should be said that every step helps.
Diet and locomotion make the biggest difference. So if you often do without meat, or maybe even take a completely vegan day per week, you contribute a lot to a healthier planet. And anyone who uses a bicycle or public transport instead of driving a car, and prefers to travel by rail and road instead of through the air on vacation, leads the way with a very exemplary attitude.
3. How do travel and sustainability fit together for you?
Sustainability has three facets: ecological, economic and social sustainability. Travel supports the latter two in most cases: Wherever we go, we spend money that benefits the local economy. This creates jobs and increases local prosperity.
Travel will never be 100% ecologically sustainable. This is not one of our actions. To do this, one would have to return to a Stone Age lifestyle. But you can on the one hand minimize and on the other compensate for the ecological effects through smart purchase decisions. For example, if you plant trees with Click A Tree, contributes to 16 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. You do a lot of good with it - and you can relax and enjoy your well-deserved vacation.

In any case, I think the idea is good and I also think that the big providers could take a slice of it. I would then probably also book my next vacation there. Maybe to a hotel in Davos and then to Australia next year 🙂
