Sources of cooling in Eschenlohe

The hike Seven Springs – Archtal Gorge – Asam Gorge in Eschenlohe promises varied views, refreshment through contact with water, and cooling off in shady spots. The Seven Springs are a wonderful place to rest. The view of the water in the shade of the trees is calming and slowing down. The water itself is groundwater filtered through sedimentary rock, which is forced upwards through the narrow passage between the Ester Mountains and the Ammergau Alps near Eschenlohe. After a short, somewhat steep climb through the forest, you reach the Archtal Gorge. Here, the high, jagged gorge walls made of Hauptdolomite are impressive. The path continues into the Asam Gorge. From the steel bridge crossing, you can look into the depths of the gorge and enjoy the magnificent shady forest that extends around the gorge. After the tour, you return to Eschenlohe, where the Organic ice cream workshop provides refreshing ice cream specialities for cooling down.

Cool forest bathing during the hike to Loisachblick in Oberau

In Oberau, too, you can find peace and refreshment in refreshing places to escape the hot summer temperatures. One possibility here is, for example, the Hike from the village to the LoisachblickThe route itself is not difficult and can be comfortably completed in one and a half hours. It leads mainly along shady forest paths to a vantage point with an impressive panorama of Oberau, the Estergebirge, and the Wetterstein massif. It is recommended that you pack your bathing suit in your backpack, as on the way back you will pass the Alpine Swimming Pool Oberau . In addition to a swimming pool with a non-swimmers' area, a diving pool with a 3-meter diving board, a large natural spring-fed lake, a Kneipp pool, and a children's paddling pool with a slide, the outdoor pool also offers recreational activities: a sand playground, table tennis, a beach volleyball court, and, of course, plenty of space to play. Rushing splashing at the Kuhflucht waterfalls in Farchant

Farchant, the third municipality in ZugspitzLand, also offers “cool places” for the hot season.
