Ina wo(a)anders: The philosophical travel podcast

New year, new podcast - a philosophical travel podcast: Every second Tuesday you can also listen to the travel thoughts of our Good Travel author Ina. What does travel have to do with happiness? Can you travel too much? Where is the line between switching off and boredom on vacation? And what are we actually looking for when we're on the road? Go on a journey of thought with Ina!

Ina's Thought Travels

Ina Hiester is a real full-time vagabond: whether by sailboat, in a van or on foot - as a digital nomad she is almost always on the move. For her, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic are her second home; and the journalist regularly works in places where others go on holiday. She celebrates all of this, because travel inspires, educates, broadens our horizons - and makes us feel really alive. If we do it right.

With her philosophical travel podcast, Ina wants to inspire us to travel more attentively and mindfully and to think about things while we're on the road instead of just taking photos. So that we don't just bring home a beautiful summer tan from our vacation, but also experiences and insights that touch us deeply. That ensure that a trip leaves traces in us that don't fade after a few weeks. The podcast is an invitation to travel intensively and attentively instead of constantly and superficially. And to pause and listen to ourselves more often while we're on the road, instead of just following the tourist mainstream.

3rd Episode: About Wanderlust

Especially when the winter is long and grey and the next vacation is still a long way off, many of us suffer from wanderlust. Good Travel podcaster Ina is no different. In this episode of her philosophical travel podcast, she gets to the bottom of her wanderlust, breaks it down into individual puzzle pieces and gives tips on how to bring a little more vacation into everyday life.

2nd Episode: About Prejudices

When we travel, we often tend to put people into boxes. No wonder, because when we leave our usual environment, we are suddenly no longer surrounded by family, friends and colleagues, but by a whole lot of people we know nothing about. And then we have to sort everything out, based on our feelings and our first impressions. But first impressions can sometimes be misleading.

Our listener Simon probably felt the same way. When he found out that Ina lives on a "sailing yacht" most of the year, he was disturbed by the idea of such a privileged life. It's good that he shared this opinion with Ina, because that gave rise to this episode about prejudices. Here you can find out how luxurious her sailing life as a digital nomad really is - and that she, too, is sometimes wrong when she judges too quickly.

Episode 1: About Travel Plans

“Plans are written in the sand at low tide”.

For many people, making travel plans is the beginning of a journey. But can there be disadvantages if we cling too tightly to travel plans? Follow Ina's travel thoughts - and take off the blinders along the way.
