GOOD TALK – Live Event in Berlin!
Why moor?
Did you know that peatlands store twice as much carbon as all the forests in the world combined? That they bind 30 percent of the carbon on the planet, even though all the peatlands worldwide together cover only 4 percent of the land area? That they are nevertheless drained, exploited, destroyed and then transformed from CO2 eaters into CO2 emitters?
That's what I mean.
That is why peatlands are the main topic of the new edition. Authors have taken a look around the swamps of Louisiana and the wetlands of the Brazilian Pantanal, discussed the threatened exploitation of peatlands for oil with local experts in the Congo, visited Gouda in the Netherlands, which is threatened with being submerged in peatlands like the rest of the country, visited pioneers of wetland management in Brandenburg's Rhinluch and watched the construction of the world's largest peatland library in Greifswald. What exactly is the situation with wetlands worldwide, what can we do to save them, which pioneers have already set out on their journey?

Where does the event take place?
And for the first time, the Good Talk will take place in Publix , the fantastic new house for democratic public and non-profit journalism in Berlin-Neukölln, which now also houses the editorial offices of Good impact and Good News sit.
