1. World Awake - Adventure. Travel. Life.
Whether during his studies, as a temporary home or for adventure trips lasting several weeks: Erik Lorenz has traveled to many countries in his young life. In his renowned travel podcast Weltwach, the author and reporter talks to adventurers, activists, photographers, authors and researchers about their experiences and insights while travelling. He asks her sensitively and sympathetically about her books and how traveling has shaped her view of our world. Erik is convinced: Travel helps us to understand the world better. His intention behind the podcast is to find out how people experience travel or why certain places have shaped them. He wants to get to know and understand the essence of the places they have visited. To this end, he often discusses the social, economic and political components of travel with his guests.
Podcast frequency: weekly, every Saturday.

2. travel
2 weeks all inclusive and vacation on the cruise ship? Not with Michael Dietz and Jochen Schliemann. In their travel podcast, the experienced travel reporters, authors, world discoverers and improvers encourage people to discover their surroundings, people and nature individually and with open eyes when travelling. Humorous and in a good mood, their podcast makes you want to be on the go, to discover, to get involved. And they always give tips on how travel can become more sustainable. They also meticulously determine and offset their own CO2 travel footprint. Although the duo always provides enough entertainment themselves, they regularly invite celebrity guests with whom they philosophize about travel. The two podcasters are convinced: "Travel makes you smarter, travel makes you more tolerant, travel lets us question and better understand the world, our home and ourselves - because travel means travel."
Podcast frequency: Fridays every 2 weeks.

Together with their guests - including travel bloggers, restaurateurs and hoteliers, leisure providers and tour operators - the two cheerful hosts take a look behind the scenes of tourism. And reveal exciting and critical details about the travel industry that often remain hidden from holidaymakers. Informative and entertaining at the same time!

4. world tour
Only people who are full-time vagabonds, dropouts or travel bloggers have time for frills like travel podcasts? That's not true! The two friends Adrian Klie and Christoph Streicher have normal full-time jobs in Germany with 30 days vacation. And of the latter, you don't leave a second unused, but always throw yourself into curious, individual adventures far and near with little luggage and a lot of high spirits. In their travel podcast world tour - with only 25 minutes per episode the shortest podcast we recommend here - they report in an entertaining and informative way about magical places, exciting encounters and large and small travel disasters. Although the two have made it their goal to travel the world, they prefer to travel by train – also for the sake of the climate. And on their website they give 7 tips for fair travel so that you can see as much of this beautiful world as possible and still have your own CO2 footprint under control.
Podcast frequency: weekly, every Sunday.

5. Off the path
"Someday is not on the calendar" - that's the motto of travel blogger, author and podcaster Sebastian Canaves. Since a Work & Travel stay in Australia, his travel fever has not cooled down, but has driven him to around 100 different countries worldwide. He prefers to travel with his girlfriend in a jeep and roof tent, far away from the concrete roads and well-trodden paths. In the Off the Path podcast, the globetrotter talks to a wide variety of personalities about their travels, experiences and adventures - from expeditions to Antarctica, trekking through the Indonesian jungle and crossing the Atlantic by sailboat.
Sebastian is the author of various books, including the travel guide "Off The Path - A Travel Guide to Happiness", "Micro Adventure Germany" and "Europe for Adventurers".

7. Coordinates world – women. Travel. Life.
Cornelius, Sebastian, Adrian, Christoph, Andy, Michael, Jochen, Erik and two Svens - you've probably noticed that the travel podcast scene is very male-dominated. Anne B. quit her job in 2021 and drove 5 kilometers through 11.000 European countries in her 4 Series Golf. In doing so, she repeatedly met like-minded, travel-loving women with special stories, which she shared in her podcast “Coordinates World: Women. Travel. Life” wants to give a stage. Whether backpacking in China, a road trip through Jordan or emigrating to Australia - in insightful interviews, Anne's podcast inspires you to give in to wanderlust and follow our travel voice - on your own, bravely and freely.
