Five places AROUND THE CHIEMSEE

A guest contribution by Sandra and Armin Bielmeier from Ferienloft Übersee 21

The Chiemsee - the Bavarian sea. That doesn't just sound like a holiday, excursion, fun or relaxation, but also keeps what it promises in all respects and much more. As soon as you drive past the mighty Kampenwand, the Chiemgau cult mountain, the Chiemsee spreads out majestically and impresses with its turquoise-blue splendor of colour. The Chiemsee is lined with kilometers of shore, walking, cycling and hiking trails, the focus is always on the vastness and unspoilt nature of the lake.

There are no limits to sustainable water sports. From swimming, rowing, sailing, kite surfing to stand-up paddling etc. everything is possible. And those who opt for the Übersee natural bathing beach, the longest in southern Germany, will be spoiled not only with spectacular sunsets but also with a wide range of gastronomic offerings from beer gardens and restaurants to chilled-out beach bars.

Not far away, the impressive mountain world of the Chiemgau Alps invites you to visit. Far away and yet only a few minutes' drive from the hustle and bustle of the lake, the local mountains are ready to pick up your personal summit happiness with fantastic views of the Central Alps on foot or with the gondola. Happiness guaranteed!

Regional specialties are offered by the various farm shops of the Chiemsee farmers and traditional handicraft businesses. The varied cultural offer is another flagship of the Chiemsee region. From the royal splendor of a Herrenchiemsee Palace to the most famous Chiemsee painter Julius Exter with a former place of work and gallery overseas. We offer our guests a guest booklet on the subject of the Chiemgau that we have prepared ourselves.

1. OVERSEAS 21

The two creative freelancers Sandra and Armin Bielmeier moved with her son from the south of Munich to her newly chosen home in 2018, bought a house in the traditional Bavarian style and brought it to life with a lot of passion and sweat. This is how the holiday loft was created on the first floor of the house Overseas21, which has been rented since August 2020.

The holiday loft is completely individually designed in a traditional-modern crossover style and equipped with high-quality furniture/decor and has a spacious living-dining area with a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious south-facing balcony with a view of our local mountains. The separate bedroom offers a view of the Upper Bavarian starry sky with the option of shooting stars. If you cross the hallway, you reach the bathroom. The approximately 75 square meter loft offers ample space for two people.

The holiday apartment was largely renovated in 2020 with natural materials and is located in the health resort of Übersee am Chiemsee. The house is located in Feldwies, a sought-after residential area outside the town centre. The banks of the Chiemsee can be reached on foot, the mountains are within reach and cycle paths (tempting) lead in all directions. The Tiroler Achen shows the traveler the way from the Alps to Lake Chiemsee or vice versa.
