The Landhotel Martinsmühle bakes buttermilk waffles
A recipe with winter spice aromas from Ingrid and Ulrich, hosts from Country hotel MartinsmühleIt's cozy in our Vesperstube, where we are happy to serve our guests all kinds of delicacies from the region and our own garden. In addition to regionality, we always pay attention to freshness, the highest quality and to throwing away as little as possible. So we give our mill's own goats and chickens leftovers from the Vesperstube. Then the hens lay delicious eggs again. Our buttermilk waffles are a particularly popular dessert. For the plum compote, we cook some of the fruit with cinnamon, star anise and cloves in September, when our house plums are ripe. In the Advent and Christmas season we have a delicious plum compote with wintry spice aromas. We like to sweeten the cappuccino in the afternoon or the end of an evening meal with it.
the recipe for our popular buttermilk waffles:
- 4 eggs
– 250 gr. softened butter
– 110 gr. sugar
- Vanilla sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- a pinch of salt
Stir the ingredients until fluffy. then 500 gr. flour with Mix in 1 packet of baking powder and ½ liter buttermilk stir to it. Then bake in the preheated waffle iron.
In September, when our house plums are ripe, we cook some of the fruit with cinnamon, star anise and cloves for the winter.
Then we have a delicious plum compote with wintry spice aromas during the Advent and Christmas season.
