Five places to hibernate
With their spring-like, mild climate all year round, the Canary Islands are a real place of longing for travelers from Europe. Especially in the cold and gray autumn and winter months you are looking for light, warmth and palm flair - and you will find what you are looking for.
The volcanic island of Lanzarote, located in the northeast of the Canary Islands not far from the Moroccan coast, is a very special place of power. With an average annual temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, the island is an ideal place to spend the winter. We introduce you to five very special places on Lanzarote that are wonderfully suitable for a longer stay. Incidentally, you can easily relocate your home office here and find peace and quiet far away from the big city.
1. Casa Alegría, Lanzarote, Spain
The apartment Casa Alegría is located in the original, rural part of Lanzarote, far away from the crowds. Located here in the picturesque village of Los Valles, you can enjoy a great view of the expanse of the volcanic island from the apartment.
In the typical Canarian house, which consists of field stones and clay, the hosts have created a stylish holiday apartment with great attention to detail. Antiques and elements from different African countries can be found here, creating a very special atmosphere. Outside there is a salt water pool for refreshment, sun loungers to relax and a grill that invites you to evening BBQs.

2. Finca Mimosa, Lanzarote, Spain
The Finca Mimosa is a private oasis with a large dream pool in the former island capital Teguise. While the extensive landscape with streets and houses is in front of the wall, lush palm trees, cacti and other exotic plants populate the spacious patio in the finca.
Local life with its cafés, restaurants and health food stores is within walking distance and at the same time you can find a pleasant retreat in the finca itself. In any case, there is no view from the outside and at the same time one can see far out into the distance from the upper terraces and windows to the mountains of fire and the sky.
The 2000 square meter garden full of exotic flora is a pleasant retreat
The finca's apartments are housed in buildings that are over 200 years old and are furnished in the traditional Lanzarote country house style. During the renovation, care was taken not only to use soft ecological colors, but also to adhere to the color rules of the artist César Manriques: walls outside white, windows and doors in agricultural areas green. The partially bricked and tiled bathrooms, kitchens and furniture such as sofa benches and beds are also typical of the islands. All of this ensures that the entire area of the finca has a very special atmosphere that invites you to spend a lot of time here.

3. Jaima Teseguite, Lanzarote, Spain
The Jaima Teseguite Bedouin tent is located on an aloe farm on the edge of a bird nature reserve. Here you are woken up by the chirping of birds and you can watch the sun rise in the east over the sea. You quickly feel very close to nature and at the same time do not have to forego any amenities in this special glamping accommodation.

The Bedouin tent with a size of 35 square meters is divided into living and sleeping areas and has a fully equipped kitchen and a shower room. The insulation of the tent ensures a balanced room climate, and for colder nights there is also a gas stove for free use.

4. Arte De Obra, LANZAROTE, SPAIN
Apartments and rooms in the middle of Haria, the city of 1000 palm trees. The nearest beach in Arrieta can be reached by car in just ten minutes. The arts and crafts market every Saturday in the main square of the village is particularly recommended. The small market hall, where guests can stock up on wonderfully fresh yet inexpensive organic products, is also recommended.
Bettina Bork, The owner has not only continued Manrique's architectural attitude, but, like her role model, fights passionately for the preservation of the island.
Three simple, white rooms lead off from the central courtyard, which is flooded with light. Together with a shared kitchen and either a private or shared bathroom, they offer relaxing accommodation for active island explorers. In addition, there are three more spacious studio apartments with their own kitchens, which encourage guests to stay longer and engage in creative activities such as painting or writing
It is extremely important to Bettina Bork that the local people also benefit from her tourism offer. It sees itself as a kind of headquarters that puts its guests in touch with the locals, depending on their needs. That is why she only offers living and sleeping places in the “Arte de Obra”, the guests are supposed to eat their meals in the village. Villagers also run yoga and pottery classes, as well as excursions.
