Hotel Hinteregger

Five places with a natural pool

A completely natural bathing pleasure awaits you at these five locations. Thanks to innovative filter techniques, water-purifying plants and fresh spring water, these natural pools do not require any chemicals. Whether bio pool or swimming pond: instead of skin irritation, you can expect soft, crystal clear water in which you can splash around without hesitation. Between water lilies and shimmering dragonflies, you quickly feel very close to nature again.

1. Chao do Rio, Centro, Portugal

Not far from the Estrela Natural Park, the largest nature reserve in Portugal, you will find the six houses of the Chao do Rio. Made of light natural stones and covered with shaggy roofs, they look a little like little sheep standing on a green meadow. In the middle is the graceful natural pool with a light pebble beach.

A swim in the mild, soft water is a particularly relaxed way to start the day. Between water lilies and shimmering dragonflies, you feel very close to nature again. Then you can doze a little in one of the hammocks before enjoying the breakfast basket. This is filled with lots of products from our own garden, eggs from the happy chickens, local cottage cheese and bread as well as other regional products.

Sitting by the natural pool with a breakfast basket and freshly squeezed juice

If that's not enough, you can also collect vegetables and fruit from the garden. There is even a juicer ready to squeeze fresh juice. In the evening, the barbecue area in the garden, which can be used together, invites you to spend cozy evenings.

All around there is a lot to discover not only in the largest nature reserve, so you are greeted with a map with many excursion options. Back at Chao do Rio, you can end the day just as relaxed as it began. With a massage or wellness therapy in your own house or in the shade under the trees.

2. Hotel Hinteregger, East Tyrol, Austria

The family-run hotel is located in the middle of the Austrian Hohe Tauern National Park Hotel Hinteregger, which is operated today in the fourth generation. Surrounded by imposing mountains and blooming alpine meadows, you will find a unique place here, whose sustainable architecture has been awarded several prizes.

In the rooms, the large window fronts ensure that the surrounding mountain scenery is the focus. It almost feels a little like outside inside and makes you want to explore the surroundings. You shouldn't miss that, because in summer you can go hiking in the high mountains and in winter the largest ski area in East Tyrol invites you to explore.

Crystal clear water in the solar-heated natural pool

Back at the hotel you can relax in the wellness area with sauna and sanarium. Thanks to innovative filter technology and sufficient regeneration areas, the solar-heated natural pool manages without any chemicals. The crystal clear water lets the sun's rays sparkle temptingly on the soft water and invites you to relax and enjoy the bath.

Then you can enjoy the traditional cuisine of the house. The special thing about it: Almost everything comes from our own production. Lisa, Traude and Sonja as well as 57 other cows, around ten pigs, a flock of sheep and a flock of chickens and quails take care of that. Slow food in the East Tyrolean way.

3. San Martino, Tuscany, Italy

The small agriturismo Saint Martin walk in southern Tuscany is like a green oasis. In the large garden, which is full of flowers, there is a swimming pond covered with water lilies. From the deck chair you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Tuscan hills.

Every single detail is right inside too. From the chic bed linen to the decorative pillows, the natural light that floods the rooms to the wonderful food. A candlelight dinner in the charming little restaurant, surrounded by the scent of flowers and the light of fireflies, is a very special experience for all the senses.

The vegetarian-vegan cuisine follows the season

The cuisine here is vegetarian-vegan, varied and follows the season. Only ecological and seasonal products from the market are used. Not only does it taste good, it looks good too. A feast for the eyes and the palate! The fresh, homemade pasta, vegetable soups and regional cheese are particularly popular with guests.

Well strengthened, you can then set out to visit one of the numerous original Tuscan towns with an interesting history. The lakes Trasimeno and Bolsena are ideal for bathing trips far away from the hotel's own swimming pond.

4. La Joya de Cabo de Gata, Andalusia, Spain

A real gem between the mountains and the sea is this accommodation. So it's not surprising that this accommodation is called exactly like this: La Joya de Cabo de Gata (the jewel of Cabo de Gata). Over the past 20 years, the owner has lovingly created a real oasis full of cozy corners for sunbathing and relaxing on one hectare of land.

The ecologically and sustainably operated pool and whirlpool provide the necessary cooling in this vast desert landscape. From here you can enjoy this crappy place particularly intensely, both in sunshine and under the moon and stars.

The bath water comes from its own source and is hygienically treated with mild and environmentally friendly products so that it does not irritate the skin and has less of the smell of chlorine. The water feels like clear but warm mountain water.

The Cabo de Gata Natural Park - a powerful place

The area around the Cabo de Gata Natural Park is one of the last largely undeveloped areas on the Andalusian Mediterranean coast. You feel wild and free between the hippie beach, idyllic villages with ceramic handicrafts and volcanic rock formations.

5. Homoki Lodge, South Puszta, Hungary

The Homoki Lodge are an idyllic retreat in the middle of the Hungarian Puszta. In the extensive steppe landscape is the historic farmstead with several larger and smaller buildings and a total of seven yurts, with which the original life of the Magyars was modeled.

A private terrace, whirlpool, underfloor heating, rain shower and stylish furnishings ensure comfort in the thermally insulated yurts. The room layout in the yurts is particularly beautiful: the rooms are spread over a total of three levels and so the bed is enthroned on the gallery above.

Discover the Hungarian steppe on horseback

The particularly extensive landscape manages without fences and boundaries. It is therefore ideally suited to be conquered on horseback. Similar to what the migrating Huns and Magyars once did with today's Hungary. And this tradition can also be found in the restaurant on the complex. An exciting mix of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and traditional Hunnic-Hungarian cuisine that is over a thousand years old is served here.

Then the outdoor pool, which is filled with thermal water, attracts you for the necessary refreshment. A massage treatment or a visit to the wood-fired Finnish sauna will also ensure that the stressed muscles from your last riding adventure relax.

Double room from 132, - per night
