Pure family happiness in the Ostseelodges

We drive between the two thatched houses into the park-like facility in Glücksburg. When we step out of the car, we immediately notice the many bird calls and the old trees. The first warm rays of sun bathe the area in a great light. There is also a little sea breeze blowing. What a wonderful start to our short vacation!
We enter the reception desk Baltic lodges, in which we are received in an extremely friendly manner. After the formalities have been clarified, we are shown to our holiday home. The houses were distributed very harmoniously over the area between the old trees.
We like the noble material mix of dark wood and natural stone
And what beautiful bungalows they are! We, two adults and two children, really like the noble mix of dark wood and natural stone and we can hardly wait to get inside the house. The appealing exterior is exceeded again inside by the high-quality furniture and the clear, Nordic design.
You can tell in every room that the furniture and decorations were chosen with heart and attention to detail. The managing director's wife designed every room in the facility herself, right down to the appropriate photographs on the walls, which she also shot herself.
Our bungalow also had its own, programmable sauna, which we really used extensively! The underfloor heating did its job perfectly on the days that were still a little chilly. A bad conscience about the energy balance is not necessary, by the way, as the entire system is supplied by its own solar power plant and heat pumps and the system even produces additional electricity for the town of Glücksburg.
Everything here is geared towards families
Everything is geared towards families: there are wonderful box spring beds for the grown-ups and stylish bunk beds that the children have torn over. All rooms are very spacious. The large terrace with sea views also caused great enthusiasm. There is a huge sofa on which a good eight people can make themselves comfortable. A large dining table that is also designed for eight people and actually everything a family could need to be able to cook a delicious meal. For breakfast we enjoyed the bread service, which provided us with first-class bread from the local bakery. The only point of criticism here is the capsule coffee machine.
A conversation with the manager Sarah explains the idea behind the complex: The owners have four children themselves and always had problems finding suitable holiday homes. So they decided without further ado to build a system themselves.
The company itself is almost a two-family business: In addition to the owner family, the manager Sarah has brought her boyfriend with her. He runs the restaurant and his brother is the head chef. Her brother is also the controller of the company and you can't get rid of the feeling that this concentrated family competence is also reflected in the quality and above all in the harmonious atmosphere. Great! Someone must have found their dream job there.
Delicious regional specialties in the restaurant and deli
Speaking of which: the restaurant and deli have reopened this spring. The deli had its first day of opening and a huge rush, so that we did not have the pleasure of trying the regional cuisine on offer. The building in which the restaurant and deli is located is only a few meters from the house beach and attracts visitors with a large terrace and regional and seasonal products.
To make it short: space, free space and the atmosphere of the facility are absolutely exemplary! Our bungalow, designed for two families, has a total area of 155 square meters, has two bathrooms and a guest toilet. The bungalows are very harmoniously integrated into the landscape and also designed in such a way that it is difficult to look at your neighbors' table.
Numerous activities for young and old in the area
In addition, the area attracts with numerous activities: A small, loving playground on the premises invites the little ones to play. Wild boars to admire and feed are within walking distance, cows and horses are right next to the site.
We can recommend long walks on the Flensburg Fjord to everyone. Then the thermal baths, which are also only a few minutes away, beckon. The small beach with beach chairs for each house is also very beautiful and picturesque. Glücksburg's beach promenade can be reached on foot in ten minutes and offers a number of restaurants and cafés. The children enjoyed the large beach playground. If that wasn't enough, there is a popular kite spot at the end of the Holnis peninsula and an indoor playground, which is a good alternative in bad weather.
Basically everything here is within walking distance. Or you can use the rental bikes, which you can borrow from reception in summer. The nearby Flensburg invites you to stroll and stroll. There are also numerous restaurants and bars in the beautiful, historic old town.
On the descent we felt totally relaxed and we are heading home with happiness in our hearts. We would have liked to have stayed longer. Hopefully this won't be our last foray into the Baltic lodges have been!
