Five places around Berlin

As beautiful as Berlin is: sometimes you just long to leave the big, full city again. Sometimes to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and recharge your batteries and take a deep breath. How nice that you don't necessarily have to drive far!

In Brandenburg there are wonderful places to come to rest and to just relax for a few days. All the better when you meet warm hosts and at the same time are surrounded by a beautiful natural and cultural landscape. We have put together exactly such places for you, five to be precise. Here you can wonderfully spend a few days, or a few more. Alone, with a partner, children and / or friends:

1. Fuchs und Hase, Nauen, Brandenburg

The host family Hermann has been involved as architects and cultural workers in the idyllic village of Ribbeck for over 15 years. Their goal: to preserve the village heritage and at the same time build up a small-scale cultural landscape. It was the family B&B Fuchs & Hase an affair of the heart and so they have conjured up a unique accommodation from a historic cowshed from the 19th century.

Mystical views in the morning

In the high attic, two double rooms and two family rooms, each with their own shower room, have been integrated around a large common room. It is also possible to book the entire floor. The rooms offer every comfort and are large and flooded with light. The guest has a great view of the landscape. If you are lucky you can see a raccoon walking on the roof. The fog that often rises from the fields is an almost mystical sight.

The area is not only special in terms of landscape. The village of Ribbeck is also an extraordinary place: small, idyllic and yet full of adventure opportunities. In an extensive park landscape there is a castle, several cafes and restaurants, a children's farm, wash house, distillery, historical classroom and much more.

The Fuchs & Hase is the right place for people who enjoy beautiful, simple things and the great outdoors. And yes, both fox and rabbit could say “good night” to you here.

Double rooms from 70 euros per night. Family rooms from 99 euros per night. Apartment from 236 euros per night.

2. Fruit farm, Gumtow, Brandenburg

The Hof Obst stands in the middle of historic Prignitz, behind a hundred-year-old chestnut. The hosts Julia and Rouven have set up two idyllic holiday apartments on the old, charming Dreiseithof. Up to six people can be accommodated here - ideal for families and groups of friends!

A place of sustainability and circular economy

The hosts have created a place of sustainability and circular economy with a lot of love. Around the courtyard there are six hectares of garden and grassland as well as a small alder quarry. These are managed according to the principle of circular economy and natural, ecological cultivation.

The guests are cordially invited to take care of themselves with the organic vegetables from the garden. If you want, you can support the hosts in their work in the fields, in the meadows or in the wood. Sheep, chickens, ponies and the two farm cats tiger and paw also live on the site. Here, too, guests are invited to help with the care of the horses. You are also welcome to take a guided walk.

The beautiful surroundings in the Dosse-Seen-Land, on the edge of the Kolreper and Horster Mountains and not far from the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Brandenburg-Elbe, can be explored in a very special way - with a Shetland pony in hand.

Apartment from 85 euros per night.

3. Gut Wendgräben, Brandenburg, Germany

In the absolute tranquility of a landscape conservation area, surrounded by fields, forests and lakes, Gut Wendgräben is an oasis of calm. Everyone will find a cozy spot in the lavishly blooming and spacious inner courtyard: those seeking peace and quiet in a deck chair or hammock, children on the playground with a large sandpit, swing and table tennis table, or for a picnic under the apple tree.

Guests can enjoy sights of migrating wild geese and rabbits as well as the sun rising over the surrounding fields.

Gut Wendgräben in Brandenburg is a feeling. First and foremost, the courtyard means freedom for the hosts. You want to give your guests a certain lightness: relaxation for the eyes, for the mind and for the head. Although the courtyard seems perfect, it remains a lively place with always something to do. This is exactly what inspires the hosts and allows for an interplay of modernity and history.

Tent pitch from 32 euros per night. Double rooms from 46 euros per night.

4. Das blaue Pferd, Zehdenick, Brandenburg

It stands around 60 kilometers north of Berlin Das blaue Pferd on an old four-sided farm. The listed ensemble was carefully restored from a sustainable point of view. On the outside, true to the original with decorative stucco and the traditional dark red bricks, on the inside with old floorboards, tiled stoves and clay walls. With particular attention to pastel-colored design, the interior design resembles an antique hodgepodge. Here it becomes clear that artists were at work!

Be creative in the midst of peaceful nature

The courtyard is particularly ideal for creative people to escape from the big city for a few days or even longer. Under these circumstances you can retreat here for work stays of a musical, writing or other creative kind or simply enjoy your days off.

Directly behind the house there are kilometers into nature. The Schorfheide Biosphere Reserve with its clear lakes and lush green forests is ideal for swimming, hiking and cycling. This is where the long-awaited, fresh, inspiring thoughts and ideas emerge that might not have come about in the big city.

Double rooms from 85 euros per night. Whole house from 150 euros per night.

5. Thomashof, Zehdenick, Brandenburg

A fully preserved four-sided farm in the middle of the beautiful Ruppin Lake District - that's that Thomashof. Here the chickens cackle, sheep bleat and birds chirp happily in the treetops. The owners Heike and Jörg Thomas have set up four cozy holiday apartments on this farm.

Children are welcome at the Thomashof

The rooms, kept in calm colors, have been consistently furnished with natural materials. And so the guest feels at home today between the clay plaster, open beams and floorboards. Children are also welcome on the farm. You can romp about the green meadows without worries and look forward to four-legged friends.

The beautiful nature around it is ideal for further letting off steam. The surrounding Ruppiner Seenland offers beautiful cycling and hiking trails. The Schorfheide, which offers a variety of outdoor activities, is also not far. In addition, one of the most beautiful water routes in Brandenburg is only a few kilometers from the farm. Everyone who would like to be active in nature has come to the right place at the Thomashof.

Apartment from 55 euros per night.
