Street Philosophy: Inspiration to pause

Street Philosophy, a mother-daughter company, has existed since 2014 and invites the reader to pause and take a look. Here you will not only find texts that make you think, but also a shop with ecologically sustainable products for the soul and spirit. In addition, information about upcoming philosophical events is provided and invited. The aim of the founders Julia Kalmund and Nina Schmid is to generate a positive change of mind in today's society in all areas of life.

We find positive thinking and more mindfulness in our society very important, which is why we put our three questions to the founders Julia Kalmund and Nina Schmid.

What was or is your motivation behind Street Philosophy?

“Those who want to be good cannot put on the cloak of doing good, but have to be good in and of themselves. Being good is an attitude that one does not have, but IS. "

Katharina Ceming, philosopher

This statement is the guiding principle of Street Philosophy and encourages us to think and act sustainably. We offer a virtual space in which we expand horizons because we bring philosophy into everyday life. But we also offer the opportunity to exchange ideas in selected locations accompanied by experts. We have in our Shop own products as well as partner products, for the mind and for the body, all of which are sustainable and made with love. Our demands on ourselves and on our partners are high.

What do you advise our readers: What can you do specifically for a better future?

The Brundtland Report of the United Nations from 1987 says: "Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without risking that future generations will not be able to meet their own needs." Use of resources, the target of investments and technological development.

How do travel and sustainability fit together for you / you?

Traveling allows us to get to know other cultures, to get to know other people and to reflect on ourselves while traveling. Philosophy does not stand for anything else. Those who travel with open eyes and an open heart will be sensitized to the miracles but also to the needs of our planet. Travel opens horizons. Not only for what we effectively see and experience, but for what needs to be preserved and for grievances that cannot be ignored.
