Go on vacation together

Five places for groups

Group trips are something nice. It doesn't matter whether you're traveling with family or friends. It's nice to take plenty of time for each other again. Spend the day and evening together, have nice conversations and experience (relaxing) exciting things together. On vacation you have time for all that, which in everyday life often doesn't have the time.

And more and more people are traveling in larger groups and appreciate the time gained in socializing. Whether for a long overdue family reunion, for a birthday with loved ones or for a long weekend away with the family from next door - there is always a reason.

Anyone who has already planned a trip for more than ten people knows how difficult it can be to find accommodation for groups. So this time we are dedicating ourselves to five locations that are ideal for group travel.

1. Mossala Island Resort, Archipelago (Finland)

Mossala Island Resort is located in the world's largest archipelago in Houtskär, Finland. The more than 20.000 green islands are even protected by UNESCO. Sports and nature lovers in particular get their money's worth here - on the water and on land. The islands can be discovered by canoe or kayak, for example. Or on the stand-up paddling or kiteboard. The country, on the other hand, can be wonderfully discovered by bicycle. Or you can go on long hikes through the surrounding forests. You can let off steam on the disc golf course or beach volleyball. Yoga is a little quieter. A jetty specially designed for yoga practice invites you to practice directly on the water.

And as it should be in Finland, there are of course (private) saunas that contribute to relaxation. Afterwards, nothing is better for cooling off than a dip in the refreshing Baltic Sea.

The evening is also spent here in good company

In the evening, the concert and dance hall attracts with its regular events such as the midsummer festival, jazz evenings or nostalgia weekends. Or you can spend the evening at the fire pits, which invite you to joint BBQs and evenings around the campfire.

There are many possibilities to stay overnight at the Mossala Island Resort. You can camp in the middle of the pine forest or make yourself comfortable in the cabins and lodges. If you want more, you can also stay in the premium versions of the cabins and lodges.

2. Landhaus Fredenwalde, Brandenburg (Germany)

Up to 12 people can find shelter in Landhaus Fredenwalde in Brandenburg. Wooden beams and floorboards, clay-plastered walls and two fireplace stoves for cold winter evenings characterize the cozy atmosphere of the holiday home. The house is located on the slope of a 111 meter high vineyard and is therefore one of the highest elevations in the area. From there you have a wonderful view over the village and the lush meadows. There is a swing here between two trees. And when you swing, you get a bit of the feeling that you are flying.

The Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve

This is very close by Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve. And right in front of the house are numerous long and short hiking and biking trails that lead through the biosphere reserve and the beautiful lake landscape of the Uckermarck. You can just as easily spend the day in the large, wild garden. Accompanied by the chirping of the crickets and the twittering of birds, you can really relax here. The sauna is also located here, which ensures additional well-being.

3. Langenbachhof, Black Forest (Germany)

In the middle of the Black Forest, the Langenbachhof, which offers space for up to 15 people, is all alone in a clearing. From the outside it looks like a typical Black Forest courtyard and inside, the restoration true to the original is reminiscent of times gone by. But in the bathroom, chrome and exposed concrete flash against you and your feet are gently warmed by underfloor heating.

Combine the good of yesteryear with the comfort of today

The rooms, on the other hand, are heated exclusively with wood stoves. And the beds in the rooms may be from bygone times, but instead of straw mattresses you can expect modern, ergonomic Hüsler Nest mattresses. The traditional smoke kitchen is fully functional, but next door there is also a perfectly equipped modern kitchen with an electric stove and oven. Here the good of yesteryear is combined with the comfort of today.

Steep paths lead from the house down to Germany's highest waterfalls in Triberg. If you dare, you can venture into the high ropes course next door. And the area is also perfect for long hiking and cycling tours. In winter, an extensive network of trails lures you to the heights of the Black Forest.

4. San Romerio, Graubünden (Switzerland)

Alp San Romerio is located on a natural slope terrace at an altitude of 1.800 meters. Surrounded by meadows, pastures and forests, you will still find unspoilt nature here. To get to the mountain hut, a hike of about 25 minutes is necessary. But the ascent is worth the trip - you hike through natural forests, breathe fresh mountain air and you can already imagine the beautiful surrounding landscape. The alp lies in a natural hollow that protects against wind and weather currents. This means that a Mediterranean climate - in the middle of the Alps - prevails here.

Yoga, hiking and mountain biking are more fun together

On the Yoga Outdoor Platform, which was built in 2017, you can experience Yoga in a completely different environment and with lots of fresh air. Numerous hiking trails lead through the charming landscape and the area can also be wonderfully discovered by mountain bike.

The dormitory can accommodate up to 16 people. Pillows and warm blankets are available for guests on the single beds. All you have to do is bring a (silk) sleeping bag. The simple but comfortably furnished two, three and six-bed rooms are ideal for more privacy. The bathroom is shared.

In the Ristoro San Romerio you can enjoy the hearty regional dishes from the Poschiavo wonderfully. These include, for example, vegetables and meat roasted on the stone, Puschlav sausages or homemade pizzoccheri with mortadella. The menu changes daily and there is something for everyone. Breakfast is included in the room rate. If you want, you can book half or full board.

5. Villa Merilen, Halkidiki (Greece)

Located right by the sea, Villa Merilen is a true paradise for large groups. Up to 20 people can be accommodated here. On more than 300m² you have enough space for communal get-togethers, games, telling stories and at the same time enough places of retreat for everyone.

The villa consists entirely of natural materials and is divided into four "apartments" on the inside. Throughout the villa there are two fully equipped kitchens, two small (tea) kitchens, a total of eight bedrooms and bathrooms and several lounges, some with a fireplace. In the garden there are wide lawns and cozy seating areas. There is a BBQ area and an outdoor shower. The absolute highlight is the private beach, which is directly in front of the house and is reserved exclusively for the guests of the villa.

Private beach, culture and a vibrant nightlife

All of this is located in the historic region of Chalkidiki, where some of the oldest human finds were discovered. Cultural and archaeological destinations are not far from here. But the mountains are also ideal for hiking and biking. There is also a lively shopping and night life in the larger towns.

Access to the private beach

Entire house for up to 20 people from € 500 per night

Group tours in Finland create unforgettable shared experiences. The beautiful nature probably offers a variety of activities. From Northern Lights tours to husky safaris, there is something for everyone. I am already looking forward to our next trip.

Thank you for the nice contribution to group travel. I used to join them on group bus trips to Paris or northern Italy, and I really miss it. I'll ask a suitable bus company in our region what they have to offer on the subject of travel.
